CU's web variety show 'Ssuperman' surpasses 2 million cumulative views in one month

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] CU announced on the 27th that its self-produced web variety show "Ssweoperman," released through its official YouTube channel CUtube, has recorded a cumulative 2 million views in just one month.
"Ssweoperman" is a convenience store-themed web variety show featuring singer and entertainer Defconn dressed as Superman, carrying various products sold at CU in a backpack and selling customized items to citizens he meets on the street. With three episodes released, "Ssweoperman" currently has a cumulative 730,000 views. When combined with major social networking service (SNS) channels such as Facebook with 290,000 views and Instagram with 980,000 views, the total number of views reaches 2 million.
Before the official episode release, "Ssweoperman" already hinted at becoming a hit content. The teaser video achieved 30,000 views in just three days, and the first episode surpassed 100,000 views within five days. In particular, as the content gained word-of-mouth popularity, episode 3, which features stories of the MZ generation met in Daehangno, showed explosive reactions by ranking 8th on YouTube’s trending videos just two days after upload.
The PIS, which quantifies user reactions such as comments, likes, and shares on the posts, also recorded 310,000. This means that more than one in seven viewers participated in the content. Approximately 3,000 new subscribers were also attracted to CUtube through "Ssweoperman."
