U Jang-gyun Appointed as Next YTN President and Executive Director
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] YTN's board of directors held a meeting on the 23rd and announced that Woo Jang-gyun, the current YTN Executive Director, has been nominated as the next CEO. Woo is officially appointed through the YTN shareholders' meeting on September 17.

Woo joined YTN in 1994, serving as the inaugural anchor and labor union chairman. He was dismissed in 2008 after opposing the appointment during the 'parachute' president controversy. He later served as president of the Korea Journalists Association and was reinstated in 2014 by a Supreme Court ruling after six years of dismissal. He currently serves as Executive Director.
