Hapcheon-gun Secures Place in Top 24 at Autumn National High School Soccer Tournament
All Preliminary Matches Completed: 24 Teams Confirmed for Knockout Tournament
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The '2021 Autumn National High School Soccer Tournament,' which opened on the 16th, is being held in Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam, and the preliminary matches were all completed on the 21st, confirming the teams advancing to the round of 24.
A total of 48 teams participated in this tournament, competing in intense preliminary group leagues over six days.
Among the 12 group winners, 8 teams (Shinpyeong High School, Hyeonpung High School, SOL FC, Gyeongbuk Beauty Arts High School, Gwangmun High School, Gwangyang Steel High School, Kyunghee High School, Chungnam Mechanical Technical High School) were seeded through a draw. The remaining 16 teams will compete in single-elimination matches starting from the 23rd, facing the 8 seeded teams in the round of 16.
The round of 16 will be held on the 24th, quarterfinals on the 26th, semifinals on the 27th, and the final match will take place on the 28th at the artificial turf stadium in the Gunmin Sports Park.
To ensure the safety of the players and prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), all matches will be held without spectators.
