View original imageThe Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 22nd that Minister Hwang Hee will attend the event hosted by the Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the opening ceremony of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The event hosted by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology is a gathering where sports ministers from various countries share the successful hosting of the Olympics and future sports policies and directions. A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official stated, “Minister Hwang Hee will actively promote the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympics to sports ministers from various countries.” The Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony will limit attendees to a minimum due to the spread of COVID-19. Minister Hwang said, “I hope our athletes fully demonstrate their skills at the world’s largest sports festival and achieve great results.” He added, “We will do our best to support the athletes’ safety in cooperation with related organizations.” The next day, Minister Hwang plans to visit the Korean press corps and the catering center to encourage and cheer for our athletes’ competitions before returning home.
