Gyeonggi Fire Department Cracks Down on 'Illegal Acts' Such as Blocking Fire Facilities in Multi-use Buildings
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters will conduct an emergency inspection of illegal acts such as blocking fire facilities at 410 multi-use facilities in the province.
On the 22nd, the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters announced that on the 27th, it will carry out a comprehensive crackdown on the 'three major illegal acts' targeting 410 multi-use facilities in the province, including water play amusement facilities, cultural assembly facilities (museums, exhibition halls, etc.), lodging facilities, and training facilities.
The three major illegal acts are blocking fire facilities, closing or damaging evacuation and fire prevention facilities, and illegal parking or stopping.
On the day of the crackdown, 530 personnel in 205 teams, including the headquarters, patrol teams from each fire station, and special fire investigation teams, will be deployed (each team will inspect two locations).
The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters will also conduct fire prevention publicity activities related to air conditioners during this comprehensive crackdown.
Since the date of this crackdown is announced in advance, the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters has decided to apply a zero-tolerance policy when illegal acts are detected.
Following Governor Lee Jae-myung of Gyeonggi-do's pledge to expand special fire investigations to eliminate hazards that threaten residents' safety, the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters sets inspection targets by period and mobilizes all inspection personnel to conduct year-round comprehensive crackdowns.
In April, a comprehensive crackdown was conducted targeting 400 large construction sites in the province with a total floor area of 5,000㎡ or more.
