Police Arrest 50-Year-Old Man for Killing 70s Man with Bladed Weapon in Yeongdeungpo Park
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man who fled after killing a man in his 70s was apprehended by the police.
The Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 21st that they arrested a man in his 50s, Mr. A, on suspicion of murder.
Mr. A is accused of stabbing a man in his 70s, Mr. B, with a weapon at a park in Yeongdeungpo-gu around 10:50 PM the previous day, causing his death.
After receiving a report from a passerby, the police began tracking based on nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and witness statements, and at around 3:30 PM on the same day, they urgently arrested Mr. A, who was residing in a provincial area. The murder weapon was reportedly found at the crime scene. Mr. B was transported to a hospital for treatment but did not regain consciousness and passed away.
