View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] Choi Jae-hyung, former head of the Board of Audit and Inspection and a presidential candidate from the People Power Party, has opened a Facebook account to communicate directly with the public.
On the 21st, Choi posted on Facebook, "I opened a social networking service (SNS) account for the first time in my life," adding, "It feels unfamiliar and awkward."
He said, "They say politics is about messaging," and emphasized, "As I continue my activities, I will directly share my thoughts with the people and listen carefully to the opinions of my Facebook friends."
Choi also said, "Last night, my son gave me a crash course," and added, "It’s awkward, but I will try my best."
For his profile picture, he uploaded a photo of himself brewing coffee. Additionally, he posted a photo of getting a perm at a hair salon and a video of playing table tennis with an acquaintance. This is interpreted as an effort to shed the 'rigid' image he had as a legal professional and show a more approachable side to the public.
In his first post, Choi included hashtags such as #FacebookOpen, #FirstTimeEver, #SonPower, and #HairstyleChange.
