Honda to Close Factory for 5 Days Due to COVID-19 Spread in Southeast Asia
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] Japanese automaker Honda has decided to close its factory located in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, for five days. This decision comes in response to the severe spread of COVID-19, especially in Southeast Asia.
The Nikkei newspaper reported on the 21st, "Honda announced that it will halt operations at the Suzuka plant from October 2nd to 6th."
The Suzuka plant is the world's largest motorcycle production facility. Honda stated, "We will operate the factory during the September holidays to avoid impacting production volume."
Toyota will also close its Takaoka plant located in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, during the same period.
