Metaverse Leader 'Roblox' Officially Enters Korean Market
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Roblox, a leading player in the metaverse, is making a full-scale entry into the Korean market.
According to industry sources on the 21st, Roblox has established "Roblox Korea LLC" in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The capital stock is 100 million KRW, and the representative is Mark Lainstra, a legal advisor at the U.S. headquarters.
The Korean corporation is expected to handle support services related to online games and development platforms, support domestic e-commerce business of overseas affiliates, and promote and market services of overseas affiliates in Korea.
Founded in 2014, Roblox is a sandbox-based open-world game platform. Users can create avatars that look like Lego figures to develop games or participate in games created by other users.

Roblox experienced rapid growth last year due to the impact of COVID-19. The monthly active users (MAU) reached approximately 150 million, of which 67% are users aged 16 or younger.
