[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] Former President Park Geun-hye (69), who is incarcerated at Seoul Detention Center, has been hospitalized for the second time this year.
According to the Ministry of Justice on the 20th, former President Park was admitted to Seoul St. Mary's Hospital in Seocho-gu, Seoul, in the afternoon for postoperative observation of shoulder surgery and treatment of chronic back pain. She has been receiving medical treatment at the detention center and hospital for shoulder pain and other conditions.
Former President Park was previously hospitalized at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital for 78 days in 2019 for shoulder surgery. In January, she was classified as a close contact of a COVID-19 case and was admitted to the same hospital, where she tested negative and received treatment for 20 days.
