View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Jang Seok-woong, Superintendent of Education of Jeonnam, visited the COVID-19 vaccination site on the 19th to encourage high school seniors and school staff participating in the vaccination in Jeonnam.
According to the Jeonnam Office of Education, by the 30th of this month, the first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine will be administered to about 24,000 high school seniors and high school staff in Jeonnam at 23 vaccination centers across 22 cities and counties in Jeonnam.
The second dose will be administered from the 9th to the 20th of next month, 21 days after the first dose.
On the first day of vaccination, Superintendent Jang visited Mokpo Indoor Gymnasium and observed the vaccination status of high school seniors and staff at Moksang High School (242 people) and Mokpo Girls' Commercial High School (282 people).
Superintendent Jang said, "It is fortunate that COVID-19 vaccinations are being carried out for examinees as the college entrance exam is just over 100 days away," and encouraged them, saying, "I hope you thoroughly prepare for the exam by staying away from the risk of COVID-19 infection during the remaining period."
The Jeonnam Office of Education requested frontline schools to establish academic operation plans according to the vaccination schedule before vaccination and to inform students and parents of detailed measures such as how to respond in case of adverse reactions.

After vaccination, student attendance will be recognized as present for the day of vaccination and up to two days after, and school staff will be granted official leave on the day of vaccination. In addition, flexible application of work regulations will be guided, such as granting sick leave in case of adverse reactions the following day.
