Fishing Boat Drifts Off Hongseong Coast... All 8 Onboard Rescued by Coast Guard
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] A 9.77-ton fishing vessel drifted near the coast of Cheonsuman, Hongseong-gun, Chungnam, but all passengers were rescued by the Coast Guard. It is reported that no one was injured.
At around 2 p.m. on the 18th, the fishing vessel drifting due to engine failure had 8 people on board, including the captain. Upon receiving the report, the Boryeong Coast Guard dispatched the Hongseong Police Station coastal rescue boat to the scene and requested support from a nearby civilian rescue vessel.
After confirming that the safety of the fishing vessel crew was not compromised, the Coast Guard used the civilian rescue vessel to tow the drifting ship to Namdang Port. The accident vessel arrived at the port at around 3:40 p.m.

Earlier in the morning, three people drifting near Hongwon Port due to engine failure of a leisure boat the previous day were also rescued by the Coast Guard. A Boryeong Coast Guard official urged, "Please make sure to thoroughly check equipment before departure and always wear a life jacket while at sea."
