According to major foreign media including NHK on the 18th, one South African player tested positive for COVID-19 the previous day and was transferred to a hospital in Kagoshima Prefecture, where the training camp is located. The South African rugby team arrived at Narita International Airport in Japan on the 13th and was classified as close contacts after boarding the same flight as a confirmed COVID-19 case.
