According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 18th, a total of 299 works won awards in this year's contest, including 1 Grand Prize, 1 Excellence Award, 1 Special Award, 17 Outstanding Awards, 76 Special Selections, and 203 Selections. The awards ceremony was held at the exhibition hall on the 16th.
A total of 443 works in 8 categories including Korean painting, Western painting, crafts, and Minhwa were submitted for this year's contest held from May 31 to June 11. The Gyeongsangbuk-do branch of the Korea Fine Arts Association, which organized the event, formed a panel of art experts on the 26th of last month to select the winners.
The Grand Prize was awarded to Oh Tae-seok's 'Horong and Pen' in the Western painting category, and the Excellence Award went to Song Eun-kyung's 'Morning Mist' in the Korean painting category.
