On the 15th, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it would correct the '2021 Local Government Official Open (Career) Competitive Appointment Exam Written Test Pass Announcement'.
After the announcement of the successful candidates, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education confirmed that some successful candidates in the education administration and librarian categories had been switched and corrected the announcement within a day. Among the candidates, 20 who were initially marked as failed were changed to pass, and 27 additional candidates were newly passed.
The candidates' answer sheets are processed electronically through the Education Administration Information System, but the inclusion of absent candidates' answer sheets altered the passing score.
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education explained, "Answer sheets of absent candidates, which should have been excluded, were mistakenly included by the person in charge, lowering the average score and increasing the standard deviation, causing changes in the adjusted scores."
For the local government official education administration and librarian categories, the second written exam consists of choosing 2 subjects out of 6. To compensate for difficulty differences between elective subjects, adjusted scores reflecting the average and standard deviation are applied. However, an issue occurred during the calculation of these adjusted scores, resulting in the switching of successful candidates.
