Hwasun-gun Imposes and Notifies Regular Property Tax of 4.471 Billion KRW

[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Jeollanam-do Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 15th that it has imposed and notified 4.471 billion KRW in regular property tax (general buildings and houses) for 26,300 cases in July 2021.

This regular property tax was levied on houses and buildings as of the 1st of last month, with 1.525 billion KRW for houses and 2.946 billion KRW for general buildings such as stores, offices, and factories.

Property tax is imposed twice a year in July and September. This month, property tax on houses and buildings is levied, and in September, property tax on houses and land is imposed on the owners as of June 1st each year.

If the calculated property tax on houses is 200,000 KRW or less, the full amount is due this month; if it exceeds 200,000 KRW, half is imposed this month and the other half in September.

The payment period is from the 16th of this month to the 2nd of next month, and payments can be made through all financial institutions' ATMs such as Nonghyup and post office, virtual accounts, credit cards, Wetax, and ARS phone services.

A county official said, “If payment is not made within the period, an additional 3% surcharge will be added, and if the principal tax amount is 300,000 KRW or more, a monthly additional surcharge of 0.75% will be added for up to 60 months, so please be sure to pay within the deadline.”
