Eun Sung-soo Responds to Criticism of Daewoo Construction Hasty Sale: "Under Investigation by KDB"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jin-ho] Eun Sung-soo, Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, said on the 13th regarding the criticism of the 'hasty sale' surrounding Daewoo Construction, "I understand that the Korea Development Bank, which has management responsibility, is currently investigating."
Chairman Eun attended the plenary session of the National Assembly's Political Affairs Committee on the same day and responded to a question from Yoon Jae-ok, a member of the People Power Party, who said, "There are so-called criticisms of a hasty sale of Daewoo Construction," by saying, "I understand that KDB is investigating, and we (the Financial Services Commission) will also look into it carefully."
Earlier, KDB Investment, the largest shareholder of Daewoo Construction, selected the Joongheung consortium as the preferred bidder for the sale of Daewoo Construction on the 5th. However, controversy arose in the market as the bid price presented in the main bidding decreased.

Regarding this, Representative Yoon pointed out, "An advisory firm was selected at the end of May, and the process proceeded at ultra-speed within 25 days until the main bidding," adding, "The sale price was also lowered after the bidder demanded a reduction despite initially offering a higher price, which is an unprecedented and unheard-of situation."
