Muan-gun Rides 'Happy Taxi for 100 Won'
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwanju] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced that from the 12th, the fare for the Happy Taxi service has been reduced from the previous 1,000 won to 100 won.
The county completed all related ordinance amendment procedures and applied the revised fare from the 12th, the day the ordinance was promulgated.
With the adjustment of the Happy Taxi fare, it is expected that taxi usage will become more active as the burden on transportation-vulnerable residents is alleviated.
Governor Kim San stated, “This fare adjustment will not only reduce the transportation expenses for local residents but also greatly help the local taxi industry, which has been struggling due to COVID-19. We will continue to strive to realize transportation welfare and do our best to ensure the stable operation of the Happy Taxi service.”
Meanwhile, last December, Muan County relaxed the selection criteria for Happy Taxi target villages from a distance of 800m or more between the bus stop and the village hall to 600m or more through ordinance amendments. Additionally, the ordinance newly specified the selection criteria for natural villages that were previously in the blind spots of Happy Taxi usage, contributing to securing mobility rights for residents in transportation-deprived areas.
