Increase of 57,846 People Receiving First Vaccine Dose in One Day... 30.3% of Population (Comprehensive)
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The number of people receiving their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine increased by about 57,000 per day.
According to the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team (Promotion Team) on the 10th, the number of new first-dose vaccinations the previous day was 57,846.
By vaccine type, there were 51,092 Pfizer doses, 6,380 Moderna doses, and 374 AstraZeneca (AZ) doses. There were no Janssen vaccine recipients for five days starting from the 5th of this month.
As of midnight on the day, the total cumulative number of first-dose vaccinations in the country was 15,573,316, which corresponds to 30.3% of the total population (51,349,116 as of December last year).
Looking at the cumulative first-dose vaccinations by vaccine, AstraZeneca leads with 10,398,938 doses, followed by Pfizer with 3,982,630 doses. The cumulative first-dose vaccinations for Moderna, which started on the 17th of last month, stand at 62,062. The cumulative vaccinations for Janssen, which began on the 10th of last month, total 1,129,686. People who received the single-dose Janssen vaccine are counted in both the first and second dose figures.
Additionally, the number of people who completed the second dose increased by 117,487. Among them, 35,528 received Pfizer. Including Pfizer cross-vaccinations, 81,959 people completed AstraZeneca vaccinations (with 70,989 cross-vaccinations). The total number of people who completed both doses rose to 5,801,997, accounting for 11.3% of the entire population.
By vaccine type, the number of second-dose recipients is 3,441,148 for Pfizer, 1,231,163 for AstraZeneca (including 220,040 cross-vaccinations), with the remainder being Janssen recipients.
Among AstraZeneca vaccination targets of 12,506,640 people, 83.1% have completed the first dose. The rate for completing both doses is 9.8%.
For Pfizer, out of 4,668,339 total targets, 85.3% have received the first dose and 73.7% have completed the second dose. For Janssen, 99.7% of the 1,133,498 priority vaccination targets have been vaccinated.
Examining the status by vaccination target and institution, including nursing hospitals and facilities, hospital-level or higher medical institutions, vulnerable facility targets, military personnel, and cases where vaccinations were administered by public health centers or respective institutions, the first-dose vaccination rate was 90.6%, and the second-dose rate was 63.7%.
The first and second dose vaccination rates at designated medical institutions, which vaccinate seniors aged 75 and older, essential travelers abroad, vaccination centers, disabled and elderly home visits, veterans care workers, chronic kidney disease patients, seniors aged 60-74, reservists, and civil defense personnel, were 84.0% and 27.5%, respectively.
On the previous day, a total of 8,218 people received leftover vaccines through the standby list and mobile applications (apps). Among them, 5,915 people received leftover vaccines by registering on the standby list at designated medical institutions, and 2,303 people used same-day vaccination reservations via Naver and Kakao apps.
So far, the total number of standby list users is 1,087,653, and the number of same-day vaccination reservation users is 264,883.

Meanwhile, as of midnight on the day, there are 2,832,300 vaccine doses remaining in the country. By vaccine type, there are 2,167,600 Pfizer doses, 253,200 AstraZeneca doses, and 411,500 Moderna doses remaining.
