According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 10th, 21 people were confirmed positive for COVID-19 in one day, increasing the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the region to 3,001.
There are many confirmed cases related to other regions as well as cases with unknown infection routes, and students have also tested positive, putting the quarantine authorities on alert.
This is the first time in three days since the 6th, when there were 11 confirmed cases in a day, that the daily confirmed cases have reached double digits.
There were 14 local infections, 6 cases under investigation for infection routes, and 1 imported case.
As Gwangju City implemented a voluntary responsibility quarantine system, employees of entertainment establishments subject to mandatory testing were also confirmed positive, and confirmed cases occurred at an elementary school in Nam-gu, a high school, and a middle school in Gwangsan-gu.
The quarantine authorities conducted a full investigation of about 2,000 people, including faculty and students, as students attended in-person classes.
