Budget Notice on the 9th... Pocheon City Saves Approximately 170 Billion Won
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The Okjeong-Pocheon Line was confirmed as a metropolitan railway at the Metropolitan Transportation Committee's review on the 5th, and is scheduled to be officially announced on the 9th.
According to Pocheon City on the 8th, with the designation of the Okjeong-Pocheon Line as a metropolitan railway, it will receive 10% national funding and provincial funding compared to urban railway projects, allowing Pocheon City to save approximately 170 billion KRW of city budget required for railway construction.
The budget sharing ratio for metropolitan railways is 70% national funding, 15% provincial funding, and 15% city funding.
The Okjeong-Pocheon metropolitan railway construction project is a 17.2 km extension, with a total project cost of 1.1762 trillion KRW. Since the residents' public hearing on the basic plan (draft) in February this year, consultations with related agencies for approval of the basic plan are currently underway.

Park Yoon-guk, Mayor of Pocheon City, stated, "We expect the project to gain more momentum with this metropolitan railway designation," and added, "We will actively promote it together with Gyeonggi Province so that Pocheon citizens can use the railway by 2028 as planned."
