Sharp Increase in Second Quarter Sales Compared to First Quarter Due to Early Heat

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Life care brand Luhens, under the environmental home appliance specialist Wonbong, announced on the 8th that domestic sales volume of the ice water purifier ‘Ice Care (WHP-2500)’ increased by approximately 45% compared to the previous quarter.
Luhens explained that the interest in ice water purifiers has increased due to the early summer heatwave, and the home cafe trend caused by COVID-19 has led to increased ice usage at home, resulting in higher sales.
Wonbong is also showing aggressive growth in domestic and overseas ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) of ice water purifiers. The production volume of ice water purifiers in the first half of this year increased by about 33% compared to the second half of last year, and production in the second quarter increased by about 509% compared to the first quarter, the company added.
Since June, Wonbong has started selling ice water purifiers in the Singapore market and plans to expand full-scale ODM sales in markets such as the Middle East and Europe from the second half of this year.
A Luhens official said, “Sales of ice water purifiers are increasing as the time spent at home lengthens,” and added, “We will continue to introduce more reliable products through our technology accumulated over more than 30 years.”

Luhens is conducting a monthly rental fee discount promotion for the ‘Ice Care Ice Water Purifier (WHP-2500)’ targeting its customers. Among Luhens rental customers who have transferred product ownership, discounted prices are applied according to the contract period when renting the ice water purifier. It is possible to purchase with a minimum monthly rental fee of 28,900 KRW.
