Yoo Gi-sang, Gochang County Governor, Reviews Progress of Promises Made in the 7th Local Election Term

According to the county on the 6th, a ‘2021 Report Meeting on the Progress of the 7th Local Government Pledge Projects and Key Management Projects’ was held the previous day.
Currently in the third year of the 7th local government term, the completion rate of 64 pledge projects across 6 sectors under Governor Yoo Gi-sang is recorded at 80%.
Three additional pledge projects, including the establishment of a training camp and the construction of a new daytime care facility for the disabled, have been completed, bringing the total number of completed projects to 17.
The ‘Establishment of an Agricultural Strategy to Strengthen the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Brand’ saw last year’s watermelons, melons, and eco-friendly rice shipped under the High Gochang brand, establishing Gochang’s agricultural specialties as trusted products nationwide.
Also, regarding the ‘Donghak Peasant Revolution Sacred Site Project,’ the Gochang Mujang Gipo was included throughout the Korean history textbooks in high schools, and the birthplace of General Jeon Bong-jun was designated as a Jeonbuk provincial monument, achieving significant results.
In the field of ‘Making Gochang a Donation Heaven of Sharing and Volunteering,’ a culture of donation in daily life was fostered, and the county was selected as an excellent local government for the ‘Hope Sharing Campaign’ for two consecutive years.
The county is thoroughly managing 74 major projects, including the ‘Biosphere Experience Learning Belt with Sunset Views.’
At this report meeting, in-depth analysis was conducted on the issues of some projects with relatively low implementation rates, and efforts were made to devise practical alternatives.
