According to Korail on the 5th, a report was received that a man urinated toward a seat inside a Gyeongui-Jungang Line train bound for Munsan around 11 PM on the 2nd.
The man is presumed to have been intoxicated, and it was reported that there were quite a few passengers on the train at the time.
Some citizens who witnessed the incident posted their accounts on social networking services (SNS).
One netizen said, "Wow, in my life, I've seen all kinds of things," adding, "A male passenger on the train suddenly pulled down his pants and started urinating. Everyone screamed and fled, and urine flowed on the train floor..." describing the situation.
In response, Korail stated that they took measures such as cleaning and disinfecting the train car at the terminal station. However, it is known that they could not identify at which station the passenger got off, so he was not apprehended.
Korail plans to file a complaint against this passenger with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Railway Special Judicial Police and request an investigation.
Meanwhile, there have been previous incidents causing controversy for urinating in the subway.
