Tomorrow's Weather: Nationwide Under Monsoon Influence... Up to 300mm Heavy Rain in Southern Regions
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Junhyung] On Tuesday the 6th, the entire country will be affected by a stationary front (monsoon front), bringing very heavy rain mainly to the southern regions.
As the stationary front moves northward, rain will expand from the northern Chungcheong area at night to the southern Gangwon region on the 6th.
The expected rainfall over two days until the 6th is 100-200mm (with some areas exceeding 300mm) in the southern regions (excluding northern Gyeongbuk), 50-100mm in southern Chungcheong and northern Gyeongbuk, and 30-80mm in northern Chungcheong and mountainous areas of Jeju Island. Jeju Island (excluding mountainous areas), Ulleungdo, and Dokdo will receive 5-20mm of rain, and southern Gangwon is expected to have 5-20mm of rain on the 6th alone.
Due to the influence of the stationary front, the ground in most areas nationwide will be weakened, raising concerns about rain-related damage, so thorough preparation in advance is necessary.
The morning low temperatures are forecasted to be between 19 and 24 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs between 25 and 32 degrees Celsius.
Fine dust levels are expected to be 'Good' to 'Moderate' across all regions.
There may be gusty winds in the southern regions, so attention should be paid to facility management and safety accidents.
Strong winds and high waves are expected in the southern offshore areas of the southern West Sea, the South Sea, Jeju Island waters, and the southern East Sea, so vessels engaged in navigation or fishing should exercise caution.
Sea waves will range from 0.5 to 3.0 meters in the near seas of the East and South Seas, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the near seas of the West Sea. Wave heights in the offshore seas are expected to be 1.0 to 4.0 meters in the East and South Seas, and 0.5 to 4.0 meters in the West Sea.
