On April 22nd, Kwon Young-jin, Mayor of Daegu, gave a special lecture at Busan City Hall, invited by the Busan Future Innovation Committee, under the theme "Opening a New Future through Win-win and Cooperation between Busan and Daegu."
This is the first special lecture by the Mayor of Busan for Daegu public officials. At a time when efforts are being made in various fields to strengthen local competitiveness, Daegu City attributed great significance to this lecture as a major opportunity to expand and reinforce the scope of communication and cooperation.
In his lecture, Mayor Park mentioned "innovation capacity," which can be described as the ability to build a new urban economy, and emphasized the activation of university-centered industry-academia cooperation bases and talent development to enhance innovation capacity.
He added, "It is necessary to establish an industrial strategy (Green Smart) in response to climate change to improve our quality of life," and emphasized, "We will strive to host the 2030 Busan World Expo so that it becomes not only an event for Busan but also an event for the Yeongnam region and, further, the entire Southern Economic Community."
