The Sangsang Junior Board proposed ideas for improving organizational culture with themes such as "communication activation," "horizontal corporate culture," and "respect for members" through workshops.
The MZ generation employees appointed as the "1st Sangsang Junior Board" plan to explore detailed implementation measures based on the three visions presented by President Baek Bok-in in this year's New Year's address: "self-confidence in vision and company-wide alignment," "fast execution through changes in working methods," and "horizontal communication and convergence," by the end of this year. They also plan to suggest new value creation methods in response to the post-COVID-19 era, ideas related to ESG (environment, social, governance) management, new businesses, and programs that meet the demands of the MZ generation.
KT&G has been leading communication management by operating the "Sangsang Realization Committee," the foundation of the Sangsang Junior Board, to understand the values of the younger generation and reflect them in management activities. Established in 2015 when President Baek took office to implement the management philosophy of "communication and empathy," the committee, composed of Millennials, has served as a communication channel to convey fresh opinions from employees to management and to improve them. The opinions of young employees have been actively reflected in various areas such as promoting work-life balance (Work-Life Balance), improving corporate culture, and discovering business ideas.
