[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] On the 5th, Lee In-young, Minister of Unification, received the 'National Unification Agreement,' adopted through national consensus by civil society to pursue a consistent policy toward North Korea, and said, "I will strive to ensure that the agreement lives and breathes in the history of inter-Korean relations."
The 'Peace and Unification Vision Social Dialogue National Citizens' Conference' (hereafter National Citizens' Conference), a bipartisan group involving citizens from all walks of life, and the citizen participation group visited the Inter-Korean Summit Headquarters in Samcheong-dong that morning to deliver the National Unification Agreement and recommendations to Minister Lee.
At the delivery ceremony, Minister Lee said, "I accept the recommendations with gravity and appreciation," adding, "Each phrase of the agreement should not remain merely as a document,
but we will make every effort to ensure it lives and breathes in the field of peace and unification policy and in the history of inter-Korean relations."

Minister Lee pointed out that inter-Korean policy has so far been established under expert leadership, leaving the voices of the people marginalized in the policy-making process, and evaluated, "The National Unification Agreement is a valuable experience where progressives, moderates, conservatives, and religious groups joined forces and acted together toward the same goal."
