One Admissions Officer Evaluates 171 Student Record Files... Hanyang University Handles 800 Cases
The Number of Evaluations is Highest in Hanyang University, Gachon University, Kyung Hee University, and Korea University in Order
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Hanyang University has been identified as the school where a single admissions officer evaluates the most student record comprehensive screening documents.
On the 5th, JinHakSa analyzed the status of admissions officers' document evaluations at 165 universities disclosed on the University Information website and found that a total of 8,282 admissions officers evaluated 646,815 applicants, averaging 171 cases per person. The university with the highest number of document evaluations per person was Hanyang University, recording 803 cases, which is 4.7 times the overall average. This was followed by Gachon University (533 cases), Kyung Hee University (485 cases), Korea University (465 cases), and Dongguk University (452 cases).
By region, admissions officers at universities in Seoul evaluated the most cases at 289, followed by Incheon (224), Gyeonggi (181), Daegu (160), and Gwangju (157).
Considering that the actual period from application to evaluation is 40 to 60 days, the time spent reviewing one applicant's documents is even shorter. In the case of Hanyang University, where 803 documents are evaluated, one admissions officer reviews documents from 17 applicants, and assuming an 8-hour workday, this means about 30 minutes are spent per document.
Calculating the number of documents evaluated per day by admissions officers, Hanyang University (16.73 cases) ranked highest, followed by Gachon University (11.11 cases), Kyung Hee University (10.11 cases), Korea University (9.69 cases), Dongguk University (9.42 cases), and Konkuk University (9.11 cases).
