Ambassador Jang Ha-sung Meets with China's Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Affairs
Meeting Ahead of the 100th Anniversary of the Communist Party Founding on the 30th of Last Month

[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Jo Young-shin] Ahead of the 100th anniversary celebration of the founding of the Communist Party of China, Jang Ha-sung, the South Korean ambassador to China, met with Liu Xiaoming, China’s Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Affairs.
According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 5th, Liu Xiaoming met with Ambassador Jang in Beijing on the 30th of last month to exchange views on common interests including the situation on the Korean Peninsula. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not disclose detailed information regarding the meeting.
The South Korean Embassy in China also confirmed the meeting between Special Representative Liu Xiaoming and Ambassador Jang but refrained from making specific comments.

Earlier, on the 23rd of last month, Special Representative Liu Xiaoming reaffirmed China’s firm support for improving inter-Korean relations and promoting reconciliation and cooperation during a phone call with Noh Kyu-duk, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Korean Peninsula Peace Negotiations Division, reiterating the existing principle of Ssangkwaebyeongjin (the parallel advancement of the denuclearization process and North Korea-US peace agreement negotiations).
