Government Activates Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters Level 1 for Heavy Rain Response
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 3rd that it has activated Level 1 of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCH) for heavy rain response and entered emergency duty.
With the full-scale rainy season starting from Jeju on this day, heavy rain is expected nationwide until the early morning of the 4th.
The Korea Meteorological Administration predicted that 50 to 100 mm of rain will fall by the morning of the 4th, with some areas receiving more than 150 mm.
The CDSCH strengthened surveillance of vulnerable facilities and areas such as mountainous and valley regions, campsites, camping grounds, and fishing spots to ensure the safety of weekend travelers and campers.
They also ordered a full-scale response to prevent casualties by urging residents in landslide and collapse risk areas to evacuate in advance.
