On the 2nd (Korean time), the US Golf Channel reported, "This year's The Open has a total prize fund of $11.5 million with a winner's prize of $2.07 million (23.4 billion KRW)," adding, "This is the first time the winner's prize has exceeded $2 million." The tournament was not held last year due to COVID-19. In 2019, the total prize fund was $10.75 million with a winner's prize of $1.935 million. The 149th tournament will open on the 15th at Royal St George's Golf Club in Sandwich, England.
