[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil]=On the 1st, Yoo Gi-sang, the governor of Gochang County, Jeonbuk, visited the Nopul Gochang Watermelon Sorting Center to mark the 3rd anniversary of the launch of the 7th local government.
Governor Yoo encouraged officials and shared breakfast with farmers while listening to their difficulties by visiting the Seonunsan Nonghyup Mujang Sorting Center from 6 a.m. that day.
The visit to the watermelon sorting center was arranged to reflect on his own commitment on the 3rd anniversary of his inauguration and to encourage farmers who sweat to cultivate the nation's best premium watermelons.
After finishing the meal, Governor Yoo started his day as usual by going to the county office and holding this month's Vision Commitment Day (Opening the First Capital of the Korean Peninsula Together with Residents).
He visited the home of a 100-year-old senior who received the COVID-19 vaccine, pinned a vaccination completion badge, and also listened to opinions on senior welfare policies at the Senior Welfare Center.
In the afternoon, he visited the Gochang Bokbunja Industrial Complex, held a meeting with resident companies, and exchanged opinions on ways to revitalize the local economy.
During the 7th local government term, the county attracted four companies (Taesong, Oncook Agricultural Corporation, Eomji Food, Dajoh-eun) to the Bokbunja Industrial Complex, creating about 800 jobs.
In particular, at the end of last year, the county solidified its reputation as a "business-friendly city" by ranking 1st in Jeonbuk and 5th nationwide in resident company satisfaction announced by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
