Looking for Excellent Cases of Small Rural Schools
'Rural Excellent School Contest' Applications Open Until August 31
Final Selection of 15 Schools... Students and Staff Eligible to Apply
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Education is holding the '2021 Rural Truly Good Small School Contest' to discover excellent operation cases of small rural schools and promote their achievements.
This contest, held for the second time following last year, will select 15 outstanding schools that operate distinctive educational programs by leveraging the strengths of rural schools.
The application period for the contest documents is until August 31. Small rural schools in eup and myeon areas with fewer than 300 students, including faculty and enrolled students, can voluntarily apply. The contest consists of a first round of document screening and a second round of video evaluation for schools that pass the first round.
The contest content can be freely composed and submitted as excellent cases of small rural schools, such as cases where schools, local governments, and village communities jointly improve educational conditions in rural areas, schools operating distinctive curricula tailored to regional characteristics, and cases implementing sustainable rural schools.

Selected schools will receive a commendation from the Minister of Education and prizes. A booklet of excellent cases will be published, and videos will be shared on a dedicated YouTube channel (Small School Hope TV).
