S-Oil Offers Condolence Payment to Family of Firefighter Who Died Suppressing Ulsan Store Fire
S-OIL (CEO Hussein Al-Katani, photo) on the 30th delivered a condolence payment of 30 million KRW to the family of the late firefighter No Myung-rae, who died in the line of duty at a fire scene in a commercial building in Seongnam-dong, Jung-gu, Ulsan. The deceased, a member of the 119 rescue team at Ulsan Jungbu Fire Station, suffered severe burns from rapidly spreading flames while extinguishing the fire early the previous day. He was transferred to the intensive care unit of a specialized hospital in Busan for treatment but ultimately passed away early that morning. The company stated, "We pray for the repose of the deceased, who always prioritized the safety and lives of the public in critical situations and devoted himself to protecting them, and we express our deepest condolences to his bereaved family following this unfortunate accident at a young age." The company has been running the Fire Hero Keeper program with the Fire Agency for 16 years, providing condolence payments to the families of 65 fallen firefighters.
