On the 30th, during the segment "Kim Eo-jun's Thoughts" on TBS Radio's "Kim Eo-jun's News Factory," Kim criticized Yoon's statement, saying, "Is it appropriate to claim that (Korea-Japan relations) were ruined because of our government at the Yun Bong-gil Memorial Hall, dedicated to the independence activist Yun Bong-gil?"
Earlier, on the 29th, Yoon held a press conference at the Maehun Yun Bong-gil Memorial Hall in Seocho-gu, Seoul. When asked by a Japanese NHK reporter if he had a plan to improve Korea-Japan relations, Yoon replied, "It should be based on pragmatism and practical approach, but (the current government) has come this far by ideologically biased singing of the song of bamboo spears."
Regarding Yoon's remarks, Kim said, "There are criticisms that he was unskilled or made abstract statements without policies during his presidential campaign announcement," adding, "Since it was his first political stage, such points might exist, but what caught my attention was his response to the NHK reporter's question about improving Korea-Japan relations."

He added, "Isn't this a perspective that aligns with the Japanese far-right? This part really sticks in my throat," he said.
Meanwhile, on the 29th, Yoon officially declared his presidential bid at the Yun Bong-gil Memorial Hall. On that day, Yoon said, "I have stepped forward with the urgency to achieve regime change," and "I will restore liberal democracy, fairness, and the rule of law."
He also criticized the policies pursued by the Moon Jae-in administration. Yoon said, "Youth, self-employed people, small and medium-sized business owners, and low-wage workers suffered due to income-led growth ignoring economic common sense, housing policies that fought the market, and populist policies close to vote-buying," and "The people were divided into factions, throwing away common sense, fairness, and the rule of law, which undermined the foundation of the country."
