Police May Control Traffic in Yeouido on July 3 Due to Large-Scale KCTU Rally
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 30th that it may control traffic around Yeouido in connection with the 10,000-person city rally organized by the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions scheduled for the 3rd of next month.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency stated, "Depending on the rally situation, we may restrict route buses and general vehicles," and urged, "Please use public transportation such as the subway and, even if vehicle operation is unavoidable, detour around congested areas during the relevant time periods."
The Seoul Metropolitan Government also plans to temporarily adjust bus routes within the controlled sections in case of road restrictions.

Meanwhile, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and its affiliated organizations, which announced a nationwide workers' rally of 10,000 people, reported 97 gatherings (873 people) of nine people each in Yeouido and downtown areas. Accordingly, the police and Seoul city issued a prohibition notice on the rallies in accordance with the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.
