Seongnam City Launches 'Public-Private Cooperation Committee'
[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Seongnam City Public-Private Cooperation Committee has officially launched.
Seongnam City announced on the 30th that the 'Seongnam City Public-Private Cooperation Committee,' an official public-private cooperation system where the public and private sectors jointly decide, implement, and evaluate policies to solve local community issues, was officially launched on the 28th.
Jang Geon, Chairman of the Korea Ceramic Foundation (69), was elected as the private co-chairman of the Public-Private Cooperation Committee, and university student Heo Ji-soo (20) was elected as the vice-chairman.
The Cooperation Committee will take on the role of coordinating and advising for the establishment and activation of the public-private cooperation system, including ▲ gathering opinions for policy formulation, deciding and evaluating policy implementation ▲ reflecting evaluation results in city administration ▲ matters related to necessary institutional improvements to revitalize public-private cooperation ▲ strengthening communication to improve awareness of cooperation.

Seongnam Mayor Eun Su-mi said, "This year marks the 50th anniversary of the 8.10 Seongnam (Gwangju Daedanji) Civil Rights Movement, which is the origin and root of Seongnam, making it a significant year and an important turning point to decide how to shape Seongnam in the future," and urged, "I ask the Public-Private Cooperation Committee to reflect citizens' opinions in city administration and coordinate these opinions to create a new Seongnam, a Seongnam where people want to live, by joining forces."
