Opening of Geumcheon Science Cube, the 'Geumcheon-gu Future Creative Science Education Hub'

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseong Hoon) will open the "Geumcheon Science Cube," a hub for future creative science education in the region, in July.
The Geumcheon Science Cube (Geumcheon-type Science Museum) is a facility remodeled from the "Infinite Imagination Space," a Seoul base institution operating the "Infinite Imagination Lab" under the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity. It is a science and technology education space spanning from basement level 1 to the 4th floor above ground.
Expanding its role as a maker creation space of the existing Infinite Imagination Lab, it plans to support 4th Industrial Revolution programs for local youth and residents.
Previously, the district conducted a public contest for the "2021 4th Industrial Science Creative Talent Development Program" targeting universities, lifelong learning facilities, and companies located in Seoul to discover science prodigies early and provide various future technology education in preparation for the 4th Industrial Revolution era.
As a result, university and corporate entities such as the Seoul National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, Seoul National University Lifelong Education Institute, Dongyang Mirae University, and Luxrobo were finally selected in the contest and are scheduled to conduct education starting in July at the Geumcheon Science Cube and university classrooms.
The district expects to build a self-sustaining scientific cultural ecosystem centered on the Geumcheon Science Cube and further spread a systematic scientific culture through integrated linkage of scientific resources within the region.
Yuseong Hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "'Geumcheon Science Cube' will function as a focal point where residents recognize the importance of the digital New Deal and experience it culturally in line with the 4th Industrial Revolution era." He added, "Going forward, the district will do its best to serve as a stepping stone for numerous scientific talents to advance into the future and the world."
