"This Time Strawberry Flavor"... Biden Surprises with Another Ice Cream Shop Visit
Promoting $1,370 Trillion Infrastructure Bill in La Crosse, Wisconsin
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] U.S. President Joe Biden visited Wisconsin on the 29th (local time) and stopped by an ice cream shop again.
After completing his official schedule in La Crosse, a small city in Wisconsin with a population of 52,000, President Biden visited a local ice cream shop.
Looking over the menu, President Biden said, "They have all kinds (of ice cream)," then chose cookies and cream and strawberry flavors.
Accompanying him, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers and Senator Tammy Baldwin also purchased ice cream.
President Biden went outside, mingled with citizens while taking photos, and then headed back to the White House.
President Biden is known as an ice cream enthusiast. He is known to like chocolate chip ice cream the most, and when he visited Ohio at the end of May, he also stopped by a local ice cream shop, showing a down-to-earth image by mingling with citizens.
President Biden's visit to La Crosse on this day was to promote the bipartisan infrastructure bill agreement recently reached with some senators.
At La Crosse's transit center, President Biden emphasized, "This is a generational investment that will put America in a position to compete with the rest of the world in the 21st century, create millions of good-paying jobs, and modernize our infrastructure."
He also mentioned China's pursuit in the field of infrastructure investment. He said, "Nationwide groundbreaking investments have always led America into the future."
President Biden is scheduled to visit Traverse City, Michigan, on Saturday, July 3.
On the 24th, President Biden reached an agreement with 21 bipartisan senators on an infrastructure investment plan worth $1.209 trillion (about 1,370 trillion won), roughly half of the previously proposed $2.25 trillion plan.
