Unsold Housing in the Seoul Metropolitan Area Decreases by 18% Compared to Previous Month... 71 Units Remain in Seoul
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 30th that as of last month, the total number of unsold houses nationwide was 15,660, a 0.9% (138 units) decrease compared to the previous month (15,798 units).
The nationwide unsold houses have been steadily decreasing from 33,894 units in May last year, 28,309 units in September, 17,130 units in January this year, to 15,660 units in May.
In the metropolitan area, the number was 1,303 units, down 18.0% (286 units) from the previous month (1,589 units), while in the provinces, it increased by 1.0% (148 units) to 14,357 units from the previous month (14,209 units).
Seoul saw a 6.6% decrease from 76 units in the previous month to 71 units.
Unsold houses after completion numbered 9,235 units, a 2.2% (205 units) decrease compared to the previous month (9,440 units).
By size, unsold medium to large houses over 85㎡ were 573 units, down 8.9% (56 units) from the previous month (629 units), and those 85㎡ or smaller were 15,087 units, a 0.5% (82 units) decrease from the previous month (15,169 units).
