Geoje City Opens 'Jangseung Pocha,' the Romantic Night Sea Spot
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Geoje City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 29th that it has opened Jangseungpo Cha at Jangseungpo Waterfront Park.
Jangseungpo Cha, which adds romance to the beautiful night sea, was created as part of the Jangseungpo Urban Regeneration New Deal Project. Eleven containers have been placed along the road at the waterfront park.
The opening ceremony was attended by Geoje Mayor Byeon Gwang-yong, members of the Gyeongnam Provincial Assembly, and Geoje City Council members. A plaque of appreciation was awarded to Chef Raymond Kim, who participated in consulting for the development of the operator menu as part of the urban regeneration project.
The event featured a pre-ceremony performance by a local pungmul troupe, followed by jazz band, dance, and singer congratulatory performances. A photo zone and observation deck were also provided, offering visitors various sights and entertainment.
Mayor Byeon Gwang-yong said, “Jangseungpo Cha is not simply a concept of a street stall for drinking, but a space for communication and relaxation where local residents, tourists, and families can all enjoy together. I hope it will establish itself as a representative tourist attraction of Geoje, beyond Jangseungpo, as a wonderful night culture combining the beautiful night view of Jangseungpo Port and the street stalls.”
