Statistics Korea Conducts Statistical Training to Strengthen Agricultural Statistics Capacity in Algeria
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The Statistics Education Institute of Statistics Korea announced on the 29th that it will conduct an 11-day training program to strengthen agricultural statistics capabilities for 20 Algerian statistical personnel from June 28 to July 8.
The "Population and Agricultural Statistics Capacity Building Training," conducted in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), is a program carried out over three years from 2019 to 2021.
Last year, the training could not be held due to COVID-19, and this year it will be conducted online via video conference, covering topics such as an overview of the Agricultural, Forestry and Fisheries Census and agricultural and fishery statistics, crop production, livestock and agricultural and fishery product trends, grain consumption surveys, statistical quality management, and R statistical analysis techniques.

The Statistics Education Institute stated, "To cultivate global statistical personnel, we will expand training courses not only on basic statistics education but also on big data and SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) that reflect our IT technology and advanced statistical education experience."
