According to Gangjin-gun on the 29th, the Doam-myeon Community Security Council (co-chairs Kim San-ok and Choi Jae-yong) has been promoting the Neighborly Love Happiness Angel donation campaign for three years since 2019 in cooperation with the Jeonnam Social Welfare Community Chest to help neighbors in need, including those in welfare blind spots.
Since the first participation of the Regional Development Council, 134 one-time donations have been relayed by residents, organizations, villages, and hometown associations, raising more than 80 million won.
In addition, about 60 regular donors contribute steadily through automatic transfers ranging from 10,000 to 50,000 won monthly, accumulating nearly 20 million won in regular donations.
With this support, on the 23rd, members of the Jaegwang Doam Hometown Association (President Yoon Chan-ho) united their intentions and donated 500,000 won, participating as the 134th relay donation, pushing the total fundraising amount over 100 million won.
President Yoon Chan-ho said, “It was touching and admirable that hometown people, who have left their hometown and are doing their best in their respective places, practiced love for their hometown during these difficult times. Although the amount is small, I hope it will be used precious for neighbors in the hometown.”
The Doam Community Security Council attributes this remarkable result to “the voluntary participation spirit of local residents and the tradition of sharing and consideration.”
Going forward, public and private sectors will work together to lead residents to volunteer sites and continuously discover and promote various and distinctive projects based on demand, such as denture management support for the elderly, exciting radio support to prevent loneliness among solitary seniors, and taxi coupon support for those with mobility difficulties.
Civilian Chair Kim San-ok said, “When our council first started the fundraising campaign, there were concerns about whether it would succeed, but as one person after another joined after hearing the word, and such great results came out, I feel that our Doam-myeon is even more remarkable.”

Co-chair and Doam-myeon Chief Choi Jae-yong also expressed gratitude to the donors, saying, “I was moved by the practice of love from all those who cherish Doam, including residents and hometown people. The achievement of 100 million won is great, but what is even more touching is feeling that the atmosphere of helping each other and living together in the community is spreading like a virus during the process.”
