NH Nonghyup Bank "Selling Apple Trees Grown by Farmers"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] NH Nonghyup Bank is offering apple trees for lease so that farmers can nurture them and customers can harvest the apples themselves.
The apple tree event, held on official social networking services (SNS) until the 25th of next month, was planned to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Nonghyup's founding, promote Korean agricultural products, and provide opportunities for exchange between rural and urban areas.
The apples are grown at apple farms located in Chungju, Chungbuk; Cheongsong, Gyeongbuk; and Jangsu, Jeonbuk, where customers can harvest the apples themselves during the harvest season. Those who wish to lease an apple tree can write their story and preferred region in the comments on Nonghyup Bank's Facebook or Instagram. Through a lottery, 300 people will be given apple tree leases, and 150 people will receive apple juice.
