Crowds Gathered at Riverside Cafe on Han River... Police Detain 300 People
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Hundreds of people violating quarantine rules were caught by the police at a riverside cafe along the Han River in Seoul.
According to the police on the 29th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul apprehended about 300 customers and staff on the evening of the 26th at around 8 PM at a riverside cafe in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, on charges of violating the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.
The police, who were dispatched following a 112 report from local district office staff conducting on-site inspections, secured the list of customers and notified the district office. It was reported that the customers were participating in an event held by renting the cafe and were consuming alcoholic beverages. The district office is considering measures such as imposing fines or filing police charges against them.
