On the 28th, at the 'COVID-19 Prevention and Vaccination Inspection Meeting' held in the Disaster and Safety Situation Room of Suwon City Hall, Deputy Mayor Cho emphasized, "Now is the time to fully respond to variant viruses," adding, "When confirmed cases infected with variant viruses occur, infection routes must be thoroughly traced and responded to quickly to prevent early spread."
As of the 27th, there are 2,492 confirmed cases of variant viruses domestically. In particular, among 719 genetic analyses conducted from the 20th to the 27th of this month, 267 cases, or 37.1%, were variant viruses.
Deputy Mayor Cho especially stated, "With the application of the revised Level 2 social distancing, which relaxes distancing measures, reports of violations of quarantine rules will also surge," urging, "Please respond strongly and promptly by imposing fines on operators and users of facilities that violate quarantine rules."
