Busan Gijang County Mayor Oh Gyu-seok held his 18th solo protest in front of the Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office, the authority responsible for permits, opposing NC Medi, a medical waste incineration company’s plan to increase its processing capacity.

On the 27th at around 10:50 a.m., Mayor Oh held a picket protest in front of the Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office in Uichang-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, strongly opposing the permit for capacity expansion of incineration by NC Medi Co., Ltd., a medical waste intermediate disposal company.

Mayor Oh said, “The Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office should not give special favors to NC Medi, a medical waste incineration company,” and added, “The incineration facility, which causes pollution and odor, is close to residential apartment complexes, raising concerns about harm to the residents.”
