[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] The nationwide launch ceremony of the 'No Muhyeon Spirit Succession Coalition,' aimed at inheriting the spirit of former President Roh Moo-hyun and recreating the administration, was held on the 26th at the lawn park in Bongha Village, Jinyeong-eup, Gimhae City, Gyeongnam, where the former president's tomb is located.
Nojeongyeon is composed of members from the Uri Party and Nosamo, and is a nationwide organization supporting Democratic Party of Korea National Assembly member Kim Du-gwan.
About 300 people attended the launch ceremony, including Song Jae-wook, Secretary General of Nojeongyeon, lawmakers Kim Du-gwan and Min Hong-chul, and officials from regional headquarters at the provincial, city, and county levels nationwide.
Secretary General Song Jae-wook said in his opening remarks, “Nojeongyeon was established to uphold the principles and common sense of Roh Moo-hyun's spirit and to create a society where people live well together,” adding, “In the future, as a civic organization aiming for politics, we will continuously support and discover individuals who align with Roh Moo-hyun's spirit.”
He continued, “Although we could not protect former President Roh, we gathered here to at least uphold his noble ideology.”
He then stated, “We request Kim Du-gwan, the standing advisor of Nojeongyeon, to inherit the political philosophy of Roh Moo-hyun and President Moon Jae-in and to recreate the administration,” effectively urging and declaring support for Kim's presidential candidacy.
National Assembly member Min Hong-chul pointed out, “When Roh Moo-hyun was elected in 2002, he held forward-thinking ideas such as creating a society where people live with principles and common sense, balanced regional development, and resolving regional sentiments,” and added, “I believe that Kim Du-gwan will surely inherit this spirit.”
Lawmaker Kim Du-gwan said, “The launch ceremony is a moment to reaffirm our determination to fully realize the autonomy and decentralization, balanced development, and other goals pursued by former President Roh, which have progressed but remain incomplete,” and added, “The request to recreate the administration is a great encouragement as we approach the presidential election.”
