Prime Minister Kim Visits Jeju Electric Vehicle Battery Industrialization Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum expressed his intention to directly support the used battery industry.
On the 26th, Prime Minister Kim visited the Electric Vehicle Battery Industrialization Center located in Jeju City, Jeju Province, and stated, "We will support our country, a battery industry powerhouse, to become a strong nation in the used battery industry as well."
As the 'first domestic' used battery reuse center, it was established to collect and store batteries used in electric vehicles and to research resource circulation by reusing them as energy storage systems (ESS) and other applications.
Prime Minister Kim added, "As the spread of electric vehicles expands, we need to find wise ways to utilize used batteries, and I am very grateful that Jeju is taking the lead in this effort."
